Removing Simplebim from Your Computer
When you uninstall Simplebim not all files and information related to Simplebim are deleted from your computer. This is done on purpose, because it makes it easier for you to upgrade to a newer version while maintaining your license and settings. However, sometimes you may want for various reasons to make a complete cleanup. The following must be done for removing any trace of Simplebim from your computer.
Even if you follow all these steps you will not get a new trial period, because the information about your trial is kept also on our license server.
The paths below are for Simplebim version 10. If you are removing an older version, simply substitute 10 with the version you are removing, for example 9.
- Uninstall any add-ons you may have installed.
- If you are not using an English language Windows, please reset and then note the User Template path from the Template Settings dialog that you can open from the Simplebim startup screen.
- Before you uninstall Simplebim, release the license. You can also release the license using the Simplebim License Monitor tool.
- Uninstall Simplebim
- Delete the user settings. The settings are located at “C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Datacubist\simplebim\10”. The path will be different if you are not using an English language Windows. In this case you find the path from the User Template folder you noted in step 2.
- Please note that the “User Templates” contains the templates you have created yourself and you might want to save them before deleting.
- Delete the registry entries. The key to delete is: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Datacubist\Simplebim\10
- Delete any downloaded update installers at “C:\ProgramData\Datacubist\Simplebim 10\Updates”. The path will be different if you are not using an English language Windows
