What are the requirements for Simplebim?

The technical requirements are quite simple. The basic Simplebim is a Window’s desktop application. It runs on Windows 8, 10 and 11. You need at least 4GB of memory and at least DirectX 9 support. All the modern computers meet these requirements. The more memory you have and the more powerful processor you have, the better – as for any BIM tool. Simplebim Cloud runs on Microsoft Azure.

On the non-technical side the whole idea of Simplebim is that you don’t have to be a BIM expert to get value out of BIM. You do need to be familiar with BIM basics, but you don’t have to know anything about the complex IFC data structures. Simplebim handles the data structures and other technical stuff for you.

You need to be willing to but some effort into learning Simplebim or take a training, just like with any other software, although we have tried to make it as simple as possible – as the name suggests.

You need to know the data you want to use from BIM. Basically, it is the same data you use without BIM.

If you want to scale up the BIM usage, you need to automate, which requires a little bit more technical skills. If you have BIM experts in house then you are good to go, or you can purchase the expertise from our skilled partners.
